Nuropod, a wearable vagus nerve stimulation device, is available to U.S. consumers as demand grows for science-backed technology within the wellness market.

Sacramento, United States, October 6, 2026 /PressCable/ -- Per the announcement, Parasym is expanding the availability of Nuropod - a vagus nerve stimulation device developed based on scientifically validated neuromodulation technology. Created using Parasym’s research platform, the system uses proprietary Auricular Vagal Neuromodulation Technology (AVNT™) to deliver targeted electrical signals non-invasively through the ear.

That emphasis on scientific validation reflects a broader shift in consumer wellness. McKinsey’s 2025 Future of Wellness research found that highly engaged wellness consumers increasingly seek science-backed solutions and are more open to newer digital technologies when they have confidence in the underlying evidence.
For Nuropod, that research centers on the vagus nerve, a major communication pathway between the brain and internal organs that contributes to the regulation of involuntary functions. The device stimulates the nerve through the tragus, the part of the outer ear just in front of the ear canal where the vagus nerve reaches the skin, without requiring surgical implantation.
Parasym says more than $10 million has been invested in research around its technology, with 60+ completed studies, 100+ ongoing studies, and 150+ research partners contributing to the evidence base.
Research using Parasym’s AVNT technology found that vagus nerve activity increased 61% in clinical studies. Separate research using the technology found that sleep quality improved by an average of 30%, with additional studies examining inflammatory responses and autonomic function.
“The goal is targeted stimulation of the intended nerve pathway while limiting activation of nearby nerves,” the company notes.
Nuropod is also designed to fit into everyday routines. Most users wear the device for around 30 minutes once or twice daily, with sessions able to take place while reading, working, or watching television.
That combination of wearable delivery and research-backed technology gives consumers a non-surgical way to access neuromodulation without substantially interrupting normal activities. “The device is designed to make the technology practical enough for regular use,” Nuropod adds.
About Nuropod
Nuropod officially launched in the United States on September 5, 2025. The consumer wellness brand is built on research from Parasym, which leads the underlying science and research program and holds the AVNT patent.
