Singers, speakers and teachers will enjoy a rare opportunity to empower their most important asset—their voice—when the Get in Tune/Core Singing® Retreat comes to Encinitas June 24th. Led by personal performance coach Dr. Meribeth Dayme, the focus will be on allowing the soul and spirit to shine through the voice.

Studies show that vocal quality is a vital determinant of how well audiences respond to and internalize any message. Dr. Dayme explains that since most people are unaware when they shut down their inner spirit, they have no idea of the tension, judgment, and lack of confidence being conveyed through their voice.

“You just need to Get in Tune with your true frequency, so you feel your strongest, your happiest and your best,” Meribeth says. “When you achieve balance and a flow of energy, your voice will function naturally and easily. The result is the ability to consistently establish a deeper connection to your audience and deliver an authentic performance with a clear message. One of the benefits of this work has been a noticeable decrease in performance anxiety.”

The one-day retreat will focus on enjoyable activities for renewing personal energy, increasing vocal awareness, and integrating an understanding of the elements of powerful vocal presentations into the practice of teaching and performing. It is the first of a series of one-day retreats designed to give those who speak or perform in the public area a new and exciting way to approach voice and performance. This first retreat, Get in Tune with Yourself, will be followed by Get in Tune with the Message, and Get in Tune with the Audience at later dates.

Known worldwide for her pioneering work in the function and use of the human voice, Meribeth Dayme is a coach and consultant to well-known coaches in theatre, voice and singing. She knows the voice inside out and back to front on a technical level and is one of the few voice teachers who focus on caring for the human spirit and soul.

As a former university professor of singing and anatomy, Meribeth helped establish a new standard for understanding the voice and how it works. She has won awards for her work and is a frequent guest lecturer and workshop leader. Her books, The Performer’s Voice, and Presence, Confidence and Personal Power are used in universities and colleges around the world.
