Ron Carter Cadillac & Hyundai Announce First of Five Scholarship Recipients

Houston auto dealership group, Ron Carter Cadillac and Ron Carter Hyundai, announces the first of five recipients of the prestigious 2019 Ron Carter Clear Lake Community Achievers Scholarship.

Clear Lake, TX – Ron Carter Cadillac and Ron Carter Hyundai are proud to announce the first of five recipients of the 2019 Ron Carter Clear Lake Community Achievers Scholarship, McKinley Young.

Ms. Young, an outstanding senior at Friendswood High School will receive $1,000 in scholarship funds. She plans to attend Texas A&M University – College Station, seeking a major in forensic investigation in preparation for law school.

As a member of numerous Honor Societies and a PALS member, she achieved an excellent academic record, while simultaneously volunteering her time with a multitude of service organizations. Not the least of which was as a Camp Counselor with the Muscular Dystrophy Association providing individual and continuous care to campers.

Young hopes that her education will afford her the opportunity to ensure more effective treatment options are available for the mentally ill that are convicted of crimes.

Ron Carter Cadillac and Ron Carter Hyundai offer the Greater Clear Lake Area high school seniors an opportunity to participate in the Ron Carter Clear Lake Community Achievers Scholarship. Five college scholarships of $1,000 each is awarded to the deserving participants beginning in March. Applications are accepted February through June.

Since 2012, the Ron Carter Clear Lake Community Achievers Scholarship chooses from an array of students, and awards the scholarships based on academic achievement, leadership, character, service, and adult recommendations. From March to July, one recipient is chosen per month, and is open to high school seniors in the following Greater Clear Lake areas:

· Clear Creek ISD

· Alvin ISD

· Deer Park ISD

· Pasadena ISD

· Dickinson ISD

· LaPorte ISD

· Pearland ISD

· Friendswood ISD

Applicants may be students of public, parochial, or home schools. Ron Carter Cadillac and Ron Carter Hyundai are pleased to offer high school students of the Greater Clear Lake area a chance to partake in the yearly Ron Carter Clear Lake Community Achievers Scholarship as a way to show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the college-bound seniors within the Clear Lake community.
