World renowned food blogger claims the number of popcorn related gadgets sold increase year after year - proving popcorn is making an overdue comeback.

Calgary AB - October 5, 2017 /MarketersMedia/ —
Regina Braun, owner of the Canadian based food blog Leelalicious.com, insists popcorn is making a strong comeback. To back up her claim, Braun says she has seen an increase in popcorn related gadgets getting sold year after year.
"Popcorn used to be quite popular. It wasn't just something you bought at the movies once a week, it was something you would regularly make at home for the whole family to enjoy. It was cheap, healthy, and the smell alone had a way of putting smiles on everyone's face. Perhaps another reason it used to be called 'magic corn' before the west discovered it."
Braun goes on to say that popcorn consumption started to greatly decrease as other snack options became more readily available. "As living standards improved in the west, so did people's ability to just buy snacks instead of making them at home. A great example of this is cookies. Know how our grandmas used to bake cookies at home? That rarely happens anymore. People pick up store bought cookies instead. It's easier, less time consuming, but by far not as tasty or healthy - at least not for the most part - as the homemade cookies were."
"The same thing happened with popcorn" says Braun. "People picked up bags of potato chips, pringles, nachos, or other salty treats instead. It came to a point where about the only place you would still find popcorn being made was in movie theaters. But that is rapidly changing!"
Braun continues by saying how the "eating healthier" movement may partially be responsible for bringing popcorn back into family home. "People are more and more conscious about the processed food they consume and are slowly starting to revert back to what our grandparents used to eat. This includes popcorn!"
"To further prove this phenomenon, look at the number of popcorn making machines being sold today. Not only do we have more poppers to choose from, but we see a drastic increase in the number of people buying them. This is especially true just before christmas. Whether customers buy them as gifts or as something to enhance their holiday get-togethers, I'm happy to see popcorn make a full-on comeback!" giggled Braun.
