Danbury, United States - May 21, 2020 /PressCable/ —
Financial Planning firm Reby Advisors and the Fairfield-Westchester County Chapter of Singularity University will host a virtual event titled “How to Strengthen Our Democracy in Troubling Times: Making Our Elections More Secure, Accurate, Private and Verifiable” on May 28, 2020, from 6PM to 7PM, featuring Danbury author and futurist Dr. John R. Patrick.
Bob Reby, CEO, President and Founder of Reby Advisors, and Ambassador of the Fairfield-Westchester County Chapter of SingularityU, explains:
“Singularity University awarded us a chapter license last year because we believe in the organization’s mission to solve the world’s grandest problems through the development and implementation of exponential technologies. With the Presidential election less than six months away and the nation grappling with the challenge of reopening safely in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we thought the community would benefit from an educational event that covers election security.”
Reby met Dr. Patrick at a 2019 SingularityU Chapter event and invited him to share his expertise on internet voting. Dr. Patrick is a former Vice President of Internet Technology at IBM and has authored six books, including, “Election Attitude: How Internet Voting Leads to a Stronger Democracy.”
At this virtual event, Dr. Patrick will discuss four primary topics:
1) Voting with Paper or Internet: Which is more secure, accurate, private and verifiable?
2) How the U.S. can safeguard ballots from hackers and foreign adversaries using blockchain technology;
3) Cautionary case studies on what has gone wrong with some past attempts at internet voting and how these mistakes could have been avoided; and
4) Internet voting success stories in foreign nations and pilot programs within the United States.

The event will be recorded, and Reby Advisors will publish video coverage on the firm’s website and social media channels on June 2, 2020. Members of the community can gain access to the video coverage by subscribing to the Reby Advisors blog at: https://www.rebyadvisors.com/blog/
