Mizner Country Club Reopens Golf Course for Ramblers
Apr 7, 2020
Mizner Country Club reopens the golf course, but it is not used to provide golf games! Its members are allowed to walk or jog on the golf cart trails from 8:00 am to sunset.
Delray Beach, FL (Merxwire) – Mizner Country Club is a brand new golf community, full of outdoor activities, food and social activities. Recently, the club has reopened the golf course to provide members walking / jogging on the trails of golf carts. Members can enjoy it from 8:00 am to sunset.
Proper exercise can make people healthier and more energetic! Although public and private golf courses have been ordered to close, resources can still be properly utilized. In order to protect the health and safety of members, members need to abide by some norms and maintain social distance.
“When Palm Beach County Mayor, Dave Kerner issued the Executive Order to close public and private golf courses, our management team met to discuss how we could meet member requests for walking/jogging paths on the Club property,” said Larry Savvides, Mizner Country Club’s General Manager and Chief Operating Officer.
Unprecedented times have called for unprecedented actions. Never in Mizner’s history have walkers been permitted on the Club’s golf cart paths. Announcing these actions to Mizner Club members, Savvides set a few policies for residents to adhere to for their safety as well as the safety of the Club’s golf course maintenance team members. They include:
1. Golf play is strictly prohibited in any form.
2. Residents must remain on the cart paths unless passing others to maintain social distancing of 6 feet.
3. Walking on the turf or any portion of the golf course (the rough, fairways, tees, greens, bunkers), unless for social distancing, is strictly prohibited.
4. Children under sixteen (16) years of age must be accompanied by an adult, age eighteen (18) years of age and older.
Mizner Rangers and security patrol the golf course to ensure that social distancing is adhered to amongst passing walkers/joggers.
“We encourage our membership to enjoy a walk/jog amidst the beautiful scenery of our stunning golf course. It is a remarkable masterpiece and will now serve our membership during the closing as an opportunity to enjoy its serenity. These are stressful times, and we are all working together to protect our health, the health of our families and the health of our staff,” he said.
Mizner Country Club is one of Delray’s premier country club communities consisting of over 470 classic Mediterranean architecture luxury homes. It is nestled in a lushly landscaped environment of royal palm and oak tree-lined streets, all surrounded by a new championship 18-hole golf course. Mizner Country Club recently achieved Platinum status by the Platinum Club of America and is recognized as a Distinguished Club of the World.
