One local business marketing expert says he is discouraged when he sees local business owners suffering from a lack of new business, and says that he is asking the hard questions to help them reconstruct their business for today’s local environment.
“I’ve seen it time and time again,” says a spokesman from FindUsLocal.com, a local business directory that offers free advertising for local business owners. “Small mom and pop shops are still trying to do business the old way, and it’s hurting their bottom line,” he says. “And that’s why I’ve decided to start asking the hard questions.”
He says that some local shop owners have been doing business the same way for years and unless someone talks truth to them, their success is in jeopardy. “The main point I want people to understand that if you want to succeed with a local business, you have to use today’s methods.”
He’s talking about ensuring that local business owners have an online presence in this tech savvy environment. “And the best way they can do that,” he says, “is to create a free local business listing.”
He says that almost 100 percent of shoppers use local business directories when trying to find local businesses. “If your business isn’t listed online,” he says, “all those customers are going to visit another shop or restaurant.”
He says it takes an average of ten minutes to set up a free local business directory. “But the benefits of those ten minutes can be seen almost immediately in the form of new customers walking through the doors.”
