LaLiga Football NFT Moments Platform Golazos & Virtual Experiences Report Launch

Spain's top football division, LaLiga, is partnering with Dapper Labs to launch a new NFT platform, Golazos, as explained in the latest report from Chiliz News.

While many sports leagues around the world are starting up digital fan clubs and creating NFT collectibles, LaLiga is going one step further. In their newest report, Chiliz News explains how Spain’s top football league is launching a new NFT marketplace, Golazos, with highlights going back as far as 2005.

The first NFT drop is launching on October 27th, and will only be available to members of the Golazos closed beta testing group. Fans can register to join Golazos testing and access the first NFT launch, which is said to contain highlights from some of the most memorable rivalries since the 2005 – 2006 season.

While few details have been released, LaLiga has secured an all-star lineup for the launch of its new NFT line, including Ansu Fati, star forward from FC Barcelona, and their goalie, Marc-André ter Stegen. Fans will also recognize the football heroes Luka Modric, from Real Madrid, and the popular face of Atletico Madrid, João Félix.

Speaking about the transition to digital fan clubs and NFTs, Óscar Mayo, LaLiga’s executive director, said, “We are constantly innovating new ways to bring LaLiga, its clubs, and players closer to our fans and with our partner Dapper Labs, we can give our fans the ability to truly be a part of this fanatical experience.”

The new NFT collection will also be a first for Dapper Labs, with bilingual highlights from matches including the play-by-play and detailed statistics in both Spanish and English. If the company follows the formula it has used with other sports leagues, the NFTs will be available in several tiers, ranging from common to ultra-rare.

LaLiga has also announced plans to take its digital innovation further, with unique experiences available only in the Metaverse. The new offerings are being created through partnerships with StadioPlus and Vegas City Limited, two companies that specialize in bringing sports and other new experiences to the Metaverse. Though the company has not yet detailed what the experiences will include, they will be available as individual parcels in Vegas City, a sports, gaming, and entertainment-based district of Decentraland in the Metaverse.
