Get to know Board-Certified Registered Nurse, Ann C. Sheets, who serves patients in Virginia.

New York City, New York Jun 15, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Ann is a board-certified registered nurse with a demonstrated history of working in a stepdown unit, intensive care unit, and cardiac intensive care unit of hospitals. She is currently in practice with Bon Secours Mercy Health in Virginia.

She has experience working with pre-and post-cardiac catheterization patients. She also has experience working with patients who have undergone pacemakers, AICDs, and ablations, and those in the acute care setting.

The mission of Bon Secours Mercy Health is "to extend the compassionate ministry of Jesus by improving the health and well-being of our communities and bring good help to those in need, especially people who are poor, dying and underserved."

Back in 2002, Ann graduated with her nursing degree from Riverside School of Professional Nursing. She then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Grand Canyon University in 2018.

Holding a certificate in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), she completed the ANCC Cardiac-Vascular Nursing board certification examination, which is a competency-based examination that provides a valid and reliable assessment of the entry-level clinical knowledge and skills of registered nurses in the cardiac-vascular specialty after initial RN licensure.

Continuously advancing her efforts, Ann is an active member of the American Nurses Association, the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the Virginia Nurses Association.

A Board-Certified Registered Nurse (RN) is a nurse who holds board certification and has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province, or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support, coordinating care, and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients' symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.

On a more personal note, Ann attributes her success to the support from her family and friends, good co-workers, as well as the good managers she works with.
