“Sojourn in Guizhou” International Promotion Conference Held in Hong Kong
Hong Kong, October 19, 2026 -- On October 18, the “Sojourn in Guizhou” International Promotion Conference, themed “Sojourn in Guizhou for a More Colorful Life,” was held in Hong Kong. Guests representing the cultural and tourism industries of both Hong Kong and Guizhou gathered along Victoria Harbour to explore new opportunities for Guizhou-Hong Kong cultural and tourism cooperation and jointly promote the new “Sojourn in Guizhou” brand.

As an international transportation hub, Hong Kong serves as a vital gateway for overseas visitors entering the Chinese mainland. As early as 2006, residents of Guiyang became eligible to visit Hong Kong under the Individual Visit Scheme. In July 2025, Guizhou and Hong Kong officially signed the Memorandum on Culture and Tourism Cooperation, establishing a regular cooperation mechanism in areas such as joint development of tourism products, coordinated marketing and promotion, and talent exchange and training. Currently, several direct high-speed trains operate between Guizhou and Hong Kong every day, creating favorable conditions for both sides to work together in developing “multi-destination” tourism products.
At the promotion conference, Guizhou showcased its cool natural landscapes and vibrant everyday life, inviting visitors from Hong Kong to transition from “visiting Guizhou to look around” to “staying in Guizhou to live.” It unveiled three signature long-stay belts: Cool Summer Retreat, Sunshine of Southern Guizhou, and Wellness and Healing, alongside a “Five-Heart” (five-fold worry-free) service guarantee ensuring effortless property selection, reliable transactions, considerate loan support, fund security, and smooth administrative procedures, while bringing together one real estate agency, two commercial banks, and nine long-stay property developers to present 11 quality residential property projects designed for extended stays.
At the event, Guizhou Tourism Industry Development Group signed agreements with the Hong Kong Educational Expeditions Association and ifeng.com, respectively. The Department of Culture and Tourism of Guizhou Province also presented Guizhou Tourism Industry Development Group with a plaque designating its Hong Kong branch as the “Colorful Guizhou” International Tourist Transit Service Center.
Guests at the event shared their views on the prospects for Guizhou’s long-stay tourism industry from diverse perspectives and offered concrete suggestions for deepening cultural and tourism cooperation between Guizhou and Hong Kong. Several Hong Kong representatives noted that Guizhou enjoys an excellent climate and ecological environment, rich natural and cultural resources, and manageable living costs, giving it what it takes to become a world-class long-stay destination. They added that Hong Kong could draw on its strengths as an international platform and financial hub to join forces with Guizhou in developing overseas visitor markets.
To ensure that visitors have the support they need to “settle in” and quality experiences to “stay well,” Guizhou has been developing the “six elements” of the long-stay industry: culture, tourism, sports, healthcare, commerce, and transportation. The venue featured an open networking area, an experience zone for the six elements of long-stay living, and an exhibition area for long-stay enterprises, providing a tangible platform for cultural and tourism businesses from Guizhou and Hong Kong to connect and collaborate, and for Hong Kong residents to learn firsthand about Guizhou’s long-stay offerings.
The promotion conference was jointly organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guizhou Province, the Information Office of the Guizhou Provincial People’s Government, the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Guizhou Province, and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Guizhou Provincial People’s Government. As Guizhou-Hong Kong cooperation continues to deepen and deliver tangible results, “Sojourn in Guizhou” is becoming a fresh choice for Hong Kong travelers to discover, experience, and fall in love with Guizhou.
